The Brutalist Colouring Book is my new personal project. The first colouring book dedicated to the poetry of concrete architecture.
I will never forget the view of the CBR building in Brussels from the back seat of my mother’s Volkswagen Beetle.
It had round windows of orange tinted glass. And was quite unlike any other building in Brussels. I had not yet heard of Brutalism, of course, and had no idea what concrete was. But every time that I saw the CBR building I was fascinated.
The word Brutalism comes from ‘beton brut’ (raw concrete in French). Enjoying its heyday in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, today it is at last being rediscovered and reassessed.

First edition of 500 hundred copies. Each copy is numbered. Designed and printed with love in Brussels on thick recycled paper. 36 pages (cover 4 pages - inside 32 pages), 148 x 210 mm (5,8" X 8,2").

Hope you will enjoy it.

Special thanks to Geert De Taeye for the great pictures and to Peter Russel for helping me out with English writing.
